RT-AC87U (Firmware:380.63_2): rebooting time to time

Alexey8484

New Around Here
Hi,
I have RT-AC87U which is running with Merlin's 380.63_2 firmware.

One time per week or two router is rebooting and then I see in the log that it crashed for some reason.
Last time router crashed and rebooted today and printed the following debug info (?) during booting (since log is too long I had to attach it as file debug_info.txt)

I am exepriencing such crashes at least last 4 firmware releases. I know that Firmware 380.63_2 is not latest but not sure if issue is fixed in latests firmwares (I checked change log)

Any idea how to fix crashes?

If you haven't done a factory reset and manual setup in awhile it would be worth starting there first. Also make sure you have your router connected to the battery side of a UPS.

On top of this suggestion, I think it's always the same: Linux kernel reacts in panic mode when it comes to memory issues - reading the log it looks like it's an out of memory or faulty swap file situation.

You need to make sure that the memory is not overloaded (reduce the no. of services you run the small 256 MB RAM router) or you need to recreate the swap file (or start using one) on the USB device - and check the device for errors before you do so!

Recently I posted some more details to a similar situation here.

As you can see from my footer the AC87U is running a lot of services but with some careful memory tuning it's rock solid!

guys, thanks for replies!

Router is connected to UPS which is not heavy loaded so there should not be issues.

I'm using router only as router so i didn't install any additional services on it.

I will try factory reset at first.
