RT-AX5400 Gnuton Compatibility

I haven't found any refernce to this question, so here it is. I have a RT-AX5400 running stock firmware and I would like to upgrade it with Gnuton firmware. The hardware version is shown as "B1". Is the Gnoton firmware compatible with this hardware version?

I'd say it's very likely to be compatible (although I don't have that model myself). The "hardware version" printed on the label usually has no bearing on the firmware. If Asus changes the hardware enough that it warrants its own firmware then they will either change the model number to something like V2, or they'll make specific mention of it in the download notes. Asus has done neither so far. There is only one firmware for all RT-AX5400 hardware versions.

Thank you for your reply, Colin. I'll see if I receive any other responses, particularlly from RT-AX5400 users. My interest in Gnuton is to be able to set up VLANs, which the stock firmware cannot do, in the fullest sense. This is so that I can isolate my IoT deveices.

Thanks again, Colin (and Tech9). My concern was that, given that my hardware version is B1, it was likely that there were earlier vesions of the hardware and I wanted to be sure that the Gnuton software applied to my version.

I have looked on Github and it looks asif the correct file for the AX5400 is 3004.388.11_1-gnuton0_beta1/RT-AX5400_3004_388.11_1-gnuton0_beta1_nand_squashfs.pkgtb.

Flash the firmware in GUI. There is firmware verification, incorrect firmware will be rejected.
