That could be your issue right there. You are using firmware from December 2019.

I suggest flashing the latest version 3.0.0.4.384.9424 which has many fixes since the 8 months earlier release.

If it doesn't solve your issue right away, I would then do a full reset to be sure you are testing the current firmware and not any interactions between the old and new.

@L&LD I didn't update the firmware as all of the newer firmwares tested by users on my local country forum denoted that the issue persisted throughout the updates.

I shall attempt to update and try the full reset. Thank you

Seems like the 2.4 GHz radio flats out dies. Try a complete power reset (unplug the power for 5-10 seconds with the router still turned on, then plug it back in). If it still fails, contact Asus or the reseller for a replacement.
