Greetings....
I have got an ASUS RT-N65U connected via its WAN plug to a Belkin 54G ADSL modem. In addition, there is a Synology DiskStation DS 107+ connected via the LAN plugs to the RT-R65U. Ftp servers on the ASUS RT-N65U (drives at the USB3.0 ports) and the DS107+ (via changed ports) are set-up, enabled and work (all via DynDNS enabled at the Belkin 54G). Via port forwarding I also got all the other enabled servers on the DS107+ to work (e.g. file station, webdav etc etc). All the WiFi, LAN connections, gateways etc are working fine.
Looking for a router password change I found the Advanced Settings in the web GUI on the RT-N65U; so I changed it to avoid having it at its default. So far, so good!
Then I activated telnet on this tab (for testing purpose) and also the above "secure connection" (or termed similarly?) box.
This was a mistake!!! Since then I can't access the web GUI any more, no matter what I do (e.g. going via the WiFi to the router via https...I thought that was what it was intended for --> no connection; also not via the WAN when coming from the other end via my Belkin 54G).
I think it only allows secure connection now but don't know how to reach the web GUI anymore --> no http/https connection ends up at the RT-N65U ever; switching off port the DS107+ doesn't help either.
When pinging the RT-N65U from behind the router it works though, also ftp works (from LAN and WAN!), also all the port forwarding works correctly, BUT I cannot get into the web GUI anymore and I cannot reach the RT-N65U via non-secure connections via the Belkin 54G any more, too.
The only way I can get into the router is via telnet (via LAN/WiFi but not WAN) but I don't know how to switch off this damn "secure connection" box there, which caused all the trouble - I am effectively locked out of my router (except for the telnet connection which I don't know how to use).
Could you please help (I am really reluctant to perform a reset to factory defaults - there must be a way) - any help highly appreciated!!!
Many thanks,
Frugirune
