RT-N66U 5G Slow Throughput

Hi,

I am noticing slow throughput using 5G wireless network

I am using my MBP 2011 with the iPad2 or the AppleTV2 with the iPad2

Streaming videos from 300MB to 1.2GB...I see the max. throughput using the network traffic monitor in the router configuration page, the maximum i get is 2000KB...is that normal?

I tried raising the mV from 40 to 100...same results...played with the channels...same results....

Try disabling QoS, it's known to interfere with wireless performance.

Also make sure you are actually connected at 300 Mbits and not a lower speed.

Hi Merlin

How can we tell if we are connecting at 300Mbits? If it's 5GHz?

If it's a computer, checking the status of the network interface in Windows will say so.

Being connected over 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz has no relation to the speed, it's just a different frequency.
