New Around Here
Bought this last November and it worked fine until recently. I have xfinity for an ISP with what they call blast speed. Basically I get >50mbs download directly wired to the router and 20mbs wireless. I've rebooted the router and attempted a firmware upgrade to no avail. Here's what's happening. I lose connection randomly with my internet radio. At the same time both of our tablets drop out as well. Within a minute or so it's back up but occasionlly I have to reset the modem and router. This is frustrating of course and I'd like to cancel xfinity but there is no one else to go with. I don't even want to get involved with ASUS as far as returning for service. Any ideas

thanks

Firmware version? Has a reset to factory defaults been performed after new firmware was installed? Did a manual and minimal configuration of the router performed to secure it and connect to the ISP?

Did your clients have any updates that may have affected their connections? Try using a new ssid for one or both bands to ensure there is no interference between microcode revisions of the different firmware and / or drivers.

Is something interfering with your wifi...microwave oven or similar, yours or neighbor's. Try a different channel...11 is a good one to try on 2.4G. Does the ethernet drop too or is it just the wifi? The update and reconfigure from scratch as above is a good bet regardless.

Exactly.
