RT-N66U Bandwidth Issue

Im having bandwidth issues with my N66U. Recently i updated my firmware from Version 3.0.0.4.378.9529 to Version 3.0.0.4.380.3264 and every since ive been having issues. I have charter 100MB internet service. On a normal day i usually get 80ish. Well after the firmware update i started to notice lag. I ran a test on speedtest.net and on speedtest.charter.com and noticed i was only getting 5MB instead of the usual 80is. Not thinking it was the router, i waited two days and nothing changed. I then did a factory reset on my router and still no change, even did the CFE rollback to Version 3.0.0.4.378.9529 and no change. Called charter to find out nothing was wrong with my service. Plugged a pc directly into the modem and got my 80ish MB bandwidth. Noticed that i also got a different IP address then what i was getting on the router. Plugged the router back in and back down to the 5MB bandwidth. Not sure what could be wrong but was wondering if anyone else had this issue before?

The above link shows my progress experience from an RT-N66U to an RT-AC68U with ISP speeds similar to yours.

Did you do a full reset to factory defaults along with a minimal and manual configuration after flashing to the firmware you wanted to test?

Also, are you testing using WiFi or wired with the RT-N66U?

testing using wired. when i did the reset, i did the power off, hold the WPS button, power on then wait 10 seconds and then hold the reset button for 10 seconds. i also did the power off hold the reset button the power on for the rescue mode. ill look over you links and see if those can help. ill also do the resets again.

You may be seeing a hardware issue then. Keep testing to make sure though before you give up.

will do, thanks. im going to reinstall my Cisco RV110W and see if it makes a difference. if it does then it maybe time to upgrade to an AC router.

L&LD im not to familiar with the site, can you link the Merlin firmware. i want to load that and see if it fixes my issue.

found my issue. my GX-D1081 V3 switch was causing the issue. not sure why since its unmanaged. ill be configuring my 3560G-48TS-S this weekend to fix my switch needs.
