RT-N66U keeps giving me limited access

Hey all just got a RT-N66U router and have linked it up using a Ethernet cable to TP-Link TD-8817 ADSL2 to use as the modem to replace the free router/modem that BT had given me (I do not have BTinfinity as I cannot get it in my area) The connection speed is excellent and I rarely go below 5bars but when I'm connected every so often it decides to give me "limited access" the yellow explanation icon appears over the connection bars and I usually have to reboot the RT-N66U router to get it working again but I cannot figure out why this keeps happening  any solutions would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey Dave thanks for replying:)

I'm not running Merlin's software, should I be? and if so can you give me a link to download it?

Is tp link in bridge mode and username and password set via n66u using pppoe connection?

I checked the configuration on tp link and it seems that is is already in bridge mode:

Is this correct?

I have set my username and password via n66u and I'm using PPPOE connection as well.

I switched to Merlin's for stability and extra features. First things first is your cable going from tp link to WAN socket on Asus?

Yes 3 laptops, 2 phones, 4 gaming systems in total all have connected to the internet working via Wifi 2.4ghz but they are getting limited access like every so often.

5ghz I don't think I need atm since none of the devices are able to connect to it except for 1 phone so I don't really need to use it.

Google the games and port forwarding.

Data is arriving at the router and it doesn't know which device on the network to route it to.

Certainly won't help network run smoothly.

Do I need to create a Static IP address before I port?

For my computers that I forward ports to I use the 'Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list' under LAN>DHCP Server. This allows me to leave the computers set to 'Obtain IP address automatically'. I'm not sure if this works for gaming systems as I don't own any. Hope this helps.

Done most of the games that everyone plays in my home but can't seem to find ports for "DayZ" forums are saying this game is unstable since it is a mod so doesn't have any and I'm getting confused with "War of the Roses" not sure what to put in.

Doesn't seem to have made much difference since I've had limited access 3 times in the last few hours even when I'm just browsing online on the laptop when no one else is on, all devices get limited as well when this happens.
