RT-N66U not utilising full bandwidth from USENET

R4YM0

New Around Here
Hi All,

Firstly Im on merlin firmware 3.0.0.4.374.39_0

New here, just bought my router last week, pretty happy with it so far. Although after getting the download master installed and on my EXT3 formatted usb drive I setup the NZB side I have unlimited bandwidth ticked, but the thing only uses about 600kbs max when downloading. Im on a 60meg line. I tried my laptop to compare and that was maxing out.

Can anyone help with this. Is there an option Im not seeing?

Cheers!!

Shouldn't make a difference, but why are you not using the RT-N66U recommended 3.0.0.4.374.39_0-em firmware?

Which firmware came installed on the RT-N66U before you upgraded it?

Did you do a proper and full reset to defaults after flashing?

Did you restore any saved setting file instead of manually re-entering any required settings?

Have you tried anything to fix this issue? What steps, exactly?

I tried flashing to Merlin to see if this would help in anyway. It did not come with the latest firmware. I have not tried to do a factory reset as yet. I have saved my settings though perhaps I will try the firmware you recommended. I wasn't aware this was the firmware to be using. Like I said new on here. Been trawling the forums to see if anyone is getting same problem.

I tried setting a speed limit to see if this would help but nothing.

Tried flashing that recommended firmware. Reset my settings and entered in manually. Download speed has went up to 1600kbs it's an improvement but still not my full bandwidth. :-/

Any luck? I'm having an almost identical issue with a r version of this router.

FWIW, The U and R versions are the same no difference. Why Asus made the two different letters i dont know. Whats the difference if you buy it at best buy or amazon.

The difference is that they don't have to price match (or beat) with different 'models'.
