RT-N66U, Time Machine

Howdy!

I have a Asus RT-N66U running the latest version of the Merlin firmware and I just recently purchased a Macbook Pro.

I see that the RT-AC68U has Time Machine capability built in and, honestly, I am kicking around the idea of getting one for that feature, as well as the AC wireless which my new Macbook can use. But it's $200, as you well know.

Do you think there is a possibility that the RT-N66U will pick up the Time Machine feature either through the goodness of Asus' hearts or through the goodness and skill of Merlin?

it would take Asus making the decision to do so, and they can't do it without forking over mad dough to Apple. i'd say the chance is extremely slim at this point, unless Apple decided to to suddenly become generous. They'd be who i'd complain to.

pretty much, just using TimeMachine on an ac68 makes you half an infidel in their eyes. You're not supposed to be using anything but Apple products I honestly don't care to help apple users with their issues with Asus products just because breaking standards is something Apple thinks is cool to do. Waste of time helping y'all, sorry.
