Rt-n66u VPN setup

Hi All,

New to the forum so excuse my *probable* stupidity...

I have a RT-N66U have been trying to set up the VPN Client in the OEM firmware, I've downloaded and installed the OpenVPN script from Hide My butt and clicked connect, however it shows a blue cross next to the server name.

I know I could install the DRT firmware but I want to keep it stock for a bit until I mess too much and potentially cause a problem with the router, does the RT-N66U actually have a VPN client that can share the VPN over the LAN or is it for something else?

Any help gladly appreciated!

I'm just a n00b as well but I don't think the stock Asus firmware supports Open VPN. You need custom firmware for that.

Latest Asus FW supports OpenVPN.

assuming you have the latest stock firmware why don't you click the help link on the openvpn admin page for a link to the openvpn client

I'm not sure where you mean. I've set up the VPN information clicked connect and nothing?

Did you insert the ca_crt file?

FWIW I just updated to the latest Asuswrt firmware and it has OpenVPN but when I try to apply my settings from privateinternetaccess I get no internet connection. Very strange because it was just working in the latest (.40) Merlin build.
