New Around Here
I am using Asus RT-AC5300 for about 3 years. Recently I changed to Merlin firmware due to intermittent lost of 2.4GHz signal. I am currently using Merlin firmware "3.0.0.4.364.19_0". This is what I observed so far, which I still unable to solve.
  1. Intermittent lost of signal. Connection to internet will be lost for about 10s to 30s. There is a "red" light on the Internet indication. However my Modem indicator lights looks normal. Connection usually resume back after few seconds (10s~30s).
  2. I have a TV Box. When I connect my TV Box to router 2.4GHz signal. Very frequent that the signal will drop and couldn't connect back. Furthermore the streaming rate will be intermittent as well. When I connect my TV Box through my mobile hotspot, while keeping my mobile wireless connect to router signal, everything seems working fine.
By the way, I am using Unifi 50M package.
Any idea / thoughts how to solve the above issues? Especially the intermittent connection lost as it is very frustrating when it happen during my game session.

Thanks.

I'm sure you mean 384.19_0, correct? :)

Try the following to resolve the connection issues.

Unplug the router from the AC power plug but leave the power button 'on'. Wait for two minutes (this lets the capacitors dissipate their charge).

Now, turn on the router and see if this simple trick helps you too.

Yes, you are right. It is 384.19_0
I did the reset couple of times. Switch off the power plug and leave for a few seconds while keeping the power button "on". Then switch it back on. The only difference here is I did not pull out the plug. If that matters. :)

Yes, it matters. With the power supply still connected to the router, it may have just enough residual charge in its coils to keep the caps charged 'just enough' to matter for what we're trying to achieve. :)

Recently, I faced another issue with my Asus RT-AC5300. I can see the wireless signal from 2.4GHz as well as 5GHz. However when I try to connect my device to the wireless signal. It failed. Even if it got connected, it will just dropped after a while. The device won't get a stable wireless connection. I doubt it is a device issue, because I observe this in several different devices in my household, example, hp, smart TV, TV Box, etc.

Any idea / advice?
By the way, I have tried the reboot and hard reboot as mentioned above in this chat thread.
