RTN66U web inteface ultra slow with VPN enabled

So basically I configure OpenVPN using PureVPN ovpn file and when I turn on the VPN, everything works.. speeds are fine on connected clients, but when I use the router web interface, and click the VPN tab, it takes literally 30 to 45 seconds to load the page. If I go anywhere else on the router UI it's fine.. only on clicking VPN tab.. ideas?

Which router and version of Merlin's FW do you have? If your static ips on lan dhcp are routed above a certain range, they many not be routed. Depending on PureVPNs configs, or how you've set the rules in your openvpn tab, it can take a long, long time to load the VPN page. Pure is problematic, given they hand over customer data, without triggering their canary. Lots of variables to be sure. You may want start by reading the wiki, then dig into many answers and posts that are already provided, to enlighten and get you on your way to a very deep subject.
