Running in HTTP and HTTPS (Both) Setting or HTTPS Questions

When running in the above configuration from is it necessary to add a certificate or it doesn't matter

I am running current Merlin FW 386.2 on RT AC68U

the setting is in Admin>System>Local Access>Config Authentication Method

The router will generate a self-signed certificate, which will be sufficient.
