RV042 Firewall & one-to-one NAT

Nomadic

New Around Here
Are there any dangers or gotcha's with enabling one-to-one NAT on the RV042? I don't need one-to-one NAT but the RV042's firewall rules don't work without it. (!!!!)

I have a RV042 set up using a single WAN port and no DMZ. I'm trying to set-up a firewall rule that will only allow SSH connections from a single source. When I set up the rule it doesn't work. It doesn't allow incoming connections. Apparently, port forwarding must be set up as well.... but port forwarding rules supersede firewall rules.... and let connections in from all WAN IPs.

I found this DSL Reports forum post saying that enabling "one-to-one" NAT will fix the Firewall / Port forwarding issue.

Is enabling one-to-one NAT going to create headaches, security issues or screw up my clients mission critical network?

Thanks in advance.
