scuse me Merlin, question about debricking?

I did a stupid today, I hit the insert key by accident and screwed up my cfe file, then to top it off I flashed it on my N66u.

It won't go into recovery, just 3 lights stuck on so I know it will need opening up to revive it.

Can you advise on the best method and what cables are needed please?

You may not be able to.
I bought a bricked rt-n66u. Had 3 solid LEDs on. I hooked up a serial cable and got no output in putty.
You screwed up the bootloader. Probably jtag time.

Asus has a firmware recovery software. Give it a go.

The only way is using a JTAG cable, JTAG software, and soldering headers on your router's pcboard.

Serial or firmware recovery won't help you if the bootloader is toast.

I use the serial one from here http://www.diygadget.com/jtag-cables.html

They also have a USB version. Not sure which you would need for that unit.
I've only read of 1 person unbricking his rt-n66u he posted on the tiao forum.
