Semi-spousal emergency: AC68u died

Need some quick advice. I just left for a 9 day trip, and a few hours after i left, our router seemed to stop working. It may be a power surge, as the satellite was messed up as well, even though my Asus RT-AC68U was on a surge protector.

She's tried rebooting... reset... letting it sit. At first you would get the lights back on, but she could never connect to the admin page. after last reboot, lights won't even come on, so i'm assuming it's a goner.

so my first question is any thoughts here, or is it DOA?

As a stop gap, i ordered a AC1900 that will be delivered same day (thank you Amazon). I'll have her swap it out and go through the setup wizard. My plan is to name the 2.4 and 5ghz the same SSIDs and passwords, so the myriad of devices i have around the house should connect back up.

on the current system, i has also set static IPs for many of my devices, including the PC that runs my home automation software, and the wireless tablets around the house that control.

Curious how much of that will come back with the same IPs, or will most stuff just be broken? Since i'm not home, just trying to get her back to some state of normalcy for the next week.

Love any thoughts or help! thanks!

If your recall of basic router settings is vague, my notes hit on some of the basic ones (a reminder for talking her through it).

Note that the router DHCP Server IP Pool spec/range should include the IP addresses you manually assign within the router; and exclude the ones you statically assign client side on a client device.

Static IPs on clients should remain intact. Manual IPs you setup within the router will only return if you have her trudge through the MAC/IP associations/assignments within the router.

Don't forget to overnight chocolates, too!
