Cmon.....

Wonder if this is the model @RMerlin was helping to develop earlier?

Asus does seem to have a somewhat dizzying and bewildering product offering of Wi-Fi routers.
American marketing would call it the "throw it up on the wall and see what sticks" strategy.

The ability to separate "gaming" traffic and normal traffic through a VPN seems like a nice feature gamers would like.

Still, it has RGB's and kids love those. It will sell.

i would buy most of routers they release. if i had enough money :(

Many models share the same or similar hardware, even the same FCC certification. You are going to pay for RGB and unlocking of previously locked in software functions. Example: RT-AX58U, RT-AX3000, RT-AX82U, TUF-AX3000. All the same router with or without "gaming" marketing.

When you also sell much more $$$ "gaming" class motherboards, graphics cards and laptops - keeping it all in the family. ;-)

Even Asus got confused with this "gaming" marketing.
Go to Asus Global web site, Laptops, For Gaming (watch mouse-over pop-up text)

ROG laptops - "Powerful. Portable. Precise."
TUF Gaming - "Next-Level Gaming"

Now go to Motherboards and do the same:

ROG - "Enthusiasts & Pro Gamers"
TUF Gaming - "Casual Gamers"

If you think you're a real gamer - get a TUF Laptop, but a ROG Motherboard. ;)

LOL. That's a good find.

The thing I don't get about all these large Asian / Eastern companies is why their English websites are always written in pidgin English. It can't be money, you can hire someone off fiver to translate a website fluently for $20.
