Since wifi 8 is not expected to be completed until 2028, maybe we'll see a few years of router model stability which should make your efforts a little easier.
If things go like in previous generations, I suspect we might see a "second gen Wifi 7" platfrom from Broadcom before that. They did it with WIfi 6 (BCM4912) and Wifi 5 (the move from SDK7 to HND 5.04). I could see them potentially launching a BCM4920, with either a node shrink or a clock bump, possibly an SDK update as well since kernel 4.19 is going EOL.Since wifi 8 is not expected to be completed until 2028, maybe we'll see a few years of router model stability which should make your efforts a little easier.
