Shared NAS between different houses

New Around Here
Hi guy, I came across this forum on my internet search and I think you could help me here.

My brothers and I live in different cities across Europe and I have an idea of one of us install a NAS or server in his house with shared access for all three of us. Where we could backup our music, pictures, movies, and everyone could access it from where they live.

I believe it's possible to do, but not being an expert I would like to ask you if it it's fast enough and how would it cost to have something like this?

Thanks for your help.

"Fast enough" depends on the speed of our internet connection (on both ends).

Most NAS manufacturers today have remote access features on their NASes and Android and iOS apps for access (as well as web browser based access).

Pogoplug has had products like this for awhile, but they are not high-powered. WD2go is newer and available on WD's newer NASes. There are many other options.

And there is always cloud-based storage.
