I actually use shodan for fun. Its one way to see how secure a device is. Shodan actually has databases of known vulnerabilities so you could search vulnerabilities of a specific model or even brand or software.

You should use shodan on yourself, find out if your IP address is visible to Shodan and what does it see from you.
