True reset for GS-AX3000?

New Around Here
Hello everyone.

I'm looking for the "nuclear" reset of my GS-AX3000.

I've read a lot of threads and other info here on SNB forums, but can't quite narrow down the exact option.

The WPS method almost works. Almost all settings are lost, almost all info is lost. And while it did seem like a true reset, I noticed that after the initial
setup process... my main PC was still with its reserved IP and DMZ'd local IP is 192.168.50.171 - disabling DMZ seems to work, but removing the PC/MAC address
from the list is impossible. It also survives with all speedtests intact (which are abysmal on the router itself - ISP delivers 1.5Gbps d/1Gbps u - I do get ~930Mbps
on a wired connection from the router, but the router itself can't handle that.

Is there a telnet or SSH command to nuke all settings, as if the router just got out of the factory? Current FW: 3.0.0.4.388_23169 from Asus.
3.0.0.4 tells me its an older kernel, so what would the command be?

Thanks

Administration - Restore/Save/Upload Setting > Factory default = Restore with "Restore to factory default settings while clearing all content and data logs."*** checked.

*** The exact wording may vary slightly, e.g. "Initialize all the settings, and clear all the data log for AiProtection, Traffic Analyzer, and Web History".

Surprised to hear you still have legacy data after the WPS method, but not disputing what you find.

Your model is listed under method method 2 AFAICT. It should work. Maybe do it twice :-).

It has been documented that the Hard Factory Reset does not always fully work with some Asus routers. I have experienced this with the AX86U and AX86U Pro. Does not hurt to start with a Type 2 Hard Factory Reset followed with a minimal configuration and a Factory Reset with Initialize from the router GUI. This has worked for me many times.

1. Turn the router off.
2. Press and hold the WPS button and turn the router on.
3. Power light is on (keep holding the WPS button).
4. Release the WPS button after the power light is off.
5. Reboot your router by manually pressing the power button.

If you are concerned with your PC getting the same IP address do a DHCP release and renew from the PC. It could still get the same IP address as before.
