shopping for a new wireless router for my home network

I am shopping for a new wireless router for my home network. While seaching through reviews I luckily stumbled accross your informative articles. I have been buying linksys for quite some time now and was looking at thier model WRT610N Simultaneous Dual Band router. After reading a bunch of customer review I am reall concerned about buying it. According to many of the reviews it has some drop out problems and there is even a heat problem with them. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of which router to buy or what other manufacturers make good routers.
A router that will last a few years and has the features I will be needing.
My kids play internet games using XBox, I want to serve movie files across it, and just general surfing.

Why were you looking at the WRT610N vs. one of the less expensive, single-band routers? Do you have any clients that can use the 5 GHz band?
