Slow network speed

New Around Here
I'm new to all this so if someone with experience and patience could please help?
I'm trying to setup a home network. Here's what I got:
I got my PC with Win7 connected using D-Link DGE-528T Gigabit Ethernet Adapter with CAT6 cable to D-Link Powerline DHP-306AV and on the other end CAT6 cable from Powerline adapter to Thomson TWG850-4 router.
On this router I got connected also my Popcornhour C-200 media player and Synology 207+ NAS.
I got network running but the speed is ridiculously low. When I'm copying a 1GB file from my PC to my C-200 or NAS the speed never exceeds 1Mbs?!
I have tried to change adapter speed but nothing changed, I tried different cables (CAT5e) but no luck, changed media player C-200 network setting from auto to 10/100 and again nothing.

Please help?

Hi,

just one correction from previous post. The speed was around 1 MB/s and I managed to elevate it to around 5 MB/s.
The main culprit was my D-link powerline. Once I did factory reset of both adapters I managed to get 5 MB/s.
Now, in Powerline AV Utility I see "Link Rate" at around 90 Mbps. I wonder if I can get more speed than 5 MBps?

Sorry, I just saw that there is a section for powerline problems so you can just transfer this to powerline section. Sorry but I didn't know that the problem will be powerline.

With a single stream, HomePlug AV will give you 40-50 Mbps or 5-6 MB/s, which is about what you are getting. See HomePlug AV Adapter Roundup - Performance.

Pay no attention to the link rate. Just as with wireless, link rates are a poor indicator of actual throughput.
