Slow speed on Wireguard.

Hello everyone, I have the following question: I recently updated my BE86u to 3006.102.6 from stock and then performed a factory reset. I configured Wireguard Server on the router, but I've noticed that it's not reaching the speed I have contracted with my ISP. I've run tests from several devices to my router, and the speed is very low on all of them. In past experiences, MTU settings have been a factor. I modified the MTU on the wgs1 interface to 1412/1380/1360, but the speed hasn't improved. I don't have any limitations or firewalls restricting this, and I don't have QoS enabled. If anyone can guide me on how to resolve this issue or has any ideas, I would appreciate your time and support. Thank you.

It may help others if you post the speed, and any method used to test that speed, you are seeing through the Wireguard server versus the broadband speed of the router/ISP.

Keep in mind you likely never see the full advertised speed of one's broadband through a Wireguard tunnel for various reasons including the hardware capabilities for the router itself, the remote client's connection/broadband speed, and how VPN generally works.

Do you really mean WireGuard Server? In other words, the devices you are testing from are remote (somewhere on the internet) and running WireGuard client software, and connecting back to your home network.

If that's the case then I don't understand what your speed test pictures are meant to be showing.

These tests are by remotely connecting from my macbook to the router (wg server) that comes out of my ISP provider. I performed a speed test, one remote and one local, with the real values of my ISP.

one remote and one local
this speed.

Colin asked you what speed to Internet you were getting when testing from the remote connection. You were connected to some different Wi-Fi network. The screenshot is your local speed as per your own explanation.

I understood. The connection is very similar 300/300

So it appears you are apparently trying to run a broadband speed test from a remote Wireguard client, that is connected to a different broadband connection (and in the mix possibly WiFi?), through the internet to a Asus router acting as a Wireguard server out through that Asus server's broadband connection. Do I have that right?

So in that case the Asus router has the broadband speed test traffic coming into the router then back out of the router at the same time.

What I am trying to investigate and fix is that when I connect to my router via WireGuard, which is connected to my ISP (400/400), and from the remote location with another direct connection of 300/300, I get low speed when I want to access the internet. It's as simple as that.
