Hi,
I have a N66U with Asus FW 3.0.0.4.260
Connected to it I have 2 PCs:
PC1: Connected via wire
PC2: Connected via EA-N66
Speed to internet is excellent from both PCs (100Mbit on both which also equals the max speed of my ISP).
When copying files between the two PCs though, the speed only gets to 400kbytes/sec.
Settings on N66U
* WPA2-Personal
* Static IPs for the 2 PCs via MAC to 192.168.1.x addresses
* Otherwise standard settings
* Both PCs run Win7 x64 Ultimate
* Speed test done via a shared folder on one of the computers
Any ideas how to solve the slow speed on the "local" network?
Best regards

---------------------
Update1:
* Replacing the EA-N66 (used with "PC2") with Ethernet-cable fixes the slow speed.
* Also, replacing the EA-N66 with a Asus USB-N53 also fixes the slow PC<->PC speed. But then the internet speed is not as good as with the EA-N66..
Any ideas of how to get the EA-N66 working at full speed also at LAN? Could it help to change some NIC adapter settings in Windows on "PC2"?
---------------------
Update2:
Got it to work (at full speed!) with the EA-N66 by installing a FTP Server on PC2 and then accessing files via FTP from PC1 (for XBMC use).
So it seems the speed problem occurs when you try to transfer files via shared folders (on Win7 in my case) and has a EA-N66 somewhere in between the computers. I guess Windows tries to do some "intelligent" optimizations, but can't do that properly with a EA-N66 "hiding" one of the computers.
If someone knows of a (Windows or NIC?) setting to work around that, please let me know.
