Hi,

I'm being thick right now and I hope someone smarter than me can answer this for me:

I am using RT-AC68U on 384.16 and I noticed in the new firmware (384.17), I would need to do a factory reset once I updated it, is that correct?

Updating some models (like the RT-AC88U) from stock firmware
3.0.0.4.384_81790 and newer will require a factory default reset
after flashing Asuswrt-Merlin, due to a change in how Asus
stores the admin password starting with 384_81790.

Try reading your quoted and linked text again. The affected model is RT-AC88U.

You have the RT-AC68U. correct? :)

Also, I thought the note was pretty straightforward:

from stock firmware 3.0.0.4.384_81790 and newer

But you say you are coming from Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16, not from stock firmware.
