spdMerlin spdMerlin v4.4.19 [2026-Apr-12] - Internet Speedtest and Monitoring Tool for AsusWRT Merlin

You could use the installed ookla speedtest that spdmerlin uses to possibly get what you are looking for.

Not sure what your script needs.
Thanks for the help. I tried your suggestion above; however, it didn't work. So I did a search and found the command line below that worked, i.e. it did a speed test on wgc4.

/jffs/addons/spdmerlin.d/ookla/speedtest --interface="wgc4" --format="human-readable" --unit="Mbps"

Release Notes for spdMerlin v4.4.19 production version now available
[2026-Apr-12]

1) FIXED: Added "unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH" statement due to the latest Entware binaries using the RUNPATH embedded library search path mechanism instead of the previous RPATH method. RUNPATH is searched *AFTER* the LD_LIBRARY_PATH definitions, whereas RPATH has higher priority than the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, so it's searched FIRST.

The fork from @Jack Yaz's spdMerlin add-on is now hosted on the AMTM-OSR GitHub repo:
