Split tunnelling on RT AC86U 386.2.2 Merlin

Im on version 386.4 and I am a little confused as to where I need to enter that code.
I am on the same boat..just got Nordvpn but noticed if I enable it, I can't connect to the vpn server (when Im outside my network). So I've been doing some reading and found about split tunneling, but I am still confused as to what I need to do get this done.
