Here is my current setup

_____[1x Iomega IX2-200 NAS in RAID 1 = 1TB]_________
|------1x USB 2.0 1TB drive plugged into usb port Backup of NAS
|------1x USB 2.0 2TB drive plugged into usb port Non critical Media

_____[DESKTOP1 I7 3770k]_________
|------1x 240 OCZ Vertex 4 SSD C: "System and a few programs"
|------1x 2TB WD Black WD2002FAEX using 32Gig onboard SSD as SRT cache "program drive"
|------1x 1TB Hitachi for misc crap
|------2x 2TB WD Green WD20EARX in RAID 0
|------1X 2TB WD Green for backup of critical items on RAID 0

How would you guys utilize the storage? I have a few ideas but some creative suggestions would be wonderful.
 
I've retrained myself to not put any DATA on PCs. All on the NAS. Applications usually on the PC (to be faster to load).
I've reduced the storage on my main PC to one 128GB SSD.

Then have a good automated strategy for NAS backup, and theft-protection. I think mine is good.
 
That is not really a solution for me. Even if I was to purchase a high end QNAP 419 NAS the top speeds would be around 100MB/s and not an ideal situation. I need local storage.
