T-Mobile AC68u Bricked?

Hi all,

I am following these instructions: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=92917711 to try to get to Merlin.

I am trying to flash FW_RT_AC68U_30043763626.trx I confirm I am in recovery mode as the power LED blinks. The recovery program by ASUS times out (30 sec) when I load the trx file or says 'The wireless router is not in rescue mode'.

Edit: When I go to rescue mode, sometimes the router defaults to 192.168.1.1, sometimes 192.168.1.147. When I use my browser to connect, it says ASUSTek-cFE miniWeb server, option to upload firmware file. When I upload, the trx file, it times out.

Not sure what I did, but the trx file was uploaded. I will wait 30min before I proceed.

Go in at setting at NIC and set your IP to 192.168.1.10, try then to flash and NOT by WIFI but by cable.

Thanks for the reply. I fixed it. Yes, I did everything by ethernet and not Wifi.
