The GT-BE98-PRO Merlin Review

thought WTF light up cable for their router?
Ubiquiti already went there :) Transparent Ethernet cables, with an Unifi switch that has configurable RGB. The idea is to be able to colour code ports (for VLANs, for example). Because using different coloured Ethernet cables would be too simple I guess.

configurable RGB

This is a big hype. Folks spend thousands on total overkill Pro Max and Enterprise switches just to get the Etherlighting. I personally don't get it and on a home network: 1) this type of switch is most likely not needed; 2) my first configuration step will be to turn it off.

Did you have an intended use for the extra radio? I couldn't justify the GT-BE98 Pro (I say extra radio, but truth is the high cost), and briefly considered the BE96, but it lacks RMerlin.
Personally, I use the 6 GHz radio as backhaul for my ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro. Also, my MacBook Pro M3 and phones all support 6 GHz. FYI, There are actually two (2) separate 6 GHz radios to distribute the load.
