Hi All,
I'm currently using two D-Link DAP1522s to WDS bridge the study and the lounge room which are at opposite ends of the house to my Asus N66U which is in the centre of the house. They work fine but can't use the 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz bands simultaneously, so I set one to each band and I currently get throughput of up to 5-6MB/s. Not bad but I'd like to do better.
I've just purchased two TP-Link WDR 4300 routers to replace the DAP1522s but I'm having trouble setting them up.
- I have the Asus set up as the router on IP: 192.168.1.1 Subnet: 255.255.255.0.
- Security is WPA2-PSK with AES
- The SSID for the 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz bands are different to avoid confusion.
- DHCP is turned on for the ASUS N66U and turned off for the TP-Link WDR 4300.
- Firmware is TP-Link TL-WDR4300_V1_130319
- I've setup WDS on 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz bands for the WDR 4300 as per the instructions on the net and in the manual using the site survey feature. IP is set as 192.168.1.202 i.e. outside of the DHCP range.
Once that was all done the WDR 4300 status page reports that the bridges are running but I can't access the DHCP server on the Asus and can't access the internet.
Any ideas? Should I use WPS? Set the SSIDs to the same name? Task one WDR4300 to one band only?
