Dear all,
I sincerely hope I’m overlooking something bloody obvious, because I thought that what I’m trying to accomplish is trivial, straightforward, and a must-have requirement for many users:
I would like my router, an Asus RT-AC68U currently running Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38_2, to protocol all traffic between LAN and WAN to a file on the USB disk. Timestamp, source and target address, and number of bytes transmitted. That’s all.
Now, it appears that none of the firmware variants readily available for my box supports this. But even if I look a bit further, I don’t really see an easy solution: For example, installing optware would give me softflowd, but then I still don’t have a client dumping the netflow stream to a file.
Am I missing something? Any ideas how to implement this (with reasonable effort)?
Many, many thanks in advance,
Peter
