Transferring Samba Share

Hello,

I have a Samba share in use over USB thru RT-N66U via an external HD and am looking at upgrading to a newer router.

Does anyone have any guides on how to setup the samba share on the new router without losing any configurations on the external drive?

FWIW I recently changed from the RT-N66U to the RT-AC86U and am happy that I did. What I did was duplicate the definition in the USB /samba section in the new router the same as the old and everything just connected and worked (access-wise). I did have an issue with file names but that has been resolved.
I can't imagine where you would have problems if you stay consistent. Good luck.
