Trouble with nano

Hi, fairly new to voxel firmware on a r9000. I know that I have used nano on an earlier version, but now on the latest version I get the following error when trying to use it:

"Error opening terminal: unknown."

Any suggestions on fixing this? Thanks in advance.

as a workaround, you could try executing this before you use nano:

export TERM=xterm
