u and l channel

Good Day

I'm rather confused about the 'u' and 'l' channel in the Wireless settings for Control Channel. For example, I see some channels like Channel 1 only have an 'l' beside it while others like Channel 11 have a 'u'. Other channels like 6 have an 'l' and a 'u'.

If I want to be on Channel 6, does it matter if I use 'l' or 'u'?

6u means you'll use channel 4 at 40mhz with primary 6
6l means you'll use channel 8 at 40mhz with primary 6

To translate, u means 6 is upper and l means 6 is lower. The reason why 1 doesnt have u and 11 doesn't have l should be quite self explanatory if you understood what I wrote.
