Scribe is clearly installed and appears to be running fine.

What's up with uiScribe?

Thanks.

It’s looking for scribe to be executable.
It appears to be World executable...

Code:
# ls -l /opt/bin/scribe
lrwxrwxrwx    1 admin    root            20 Dec  7 16:54 /opt/bin/scribe -> /jffs/scripts/scribe

# ls -l /jffs/scripts/scribe
-rwxr-xr-x 1 admin root 79649 Jan 15 20:38 /jffs/scripts/scribe

Oh, amtm is looking for logrotate in post-mount also. Maybe scribe has changed.
Edit: yes, the post-mount entry changed here:

This morning, a friend of mine alerted me to the uiScribe installation problem reported on this thread. Apologies for not responding earlier; I've been very busy with work and have had no time to check my secondary emails and the SNB Forums messages all this past week.

Thanks @dave14305 for pointing out where the problem is. Yes, the format of the line inserted into the "/jffs/scripts/post-mount" script to create the cron job for log rotation was modified in November last year (and was modified further this year), so the current check in AMTM no longer works to find the inserted command, which is 1 of 2 checks used to validate whether Scribe is indeed installed.

I'll submit a PR later this evening to modify the check in the AMTM script. IMO, it should no longer check for the "logrotate" cron job since logrotate might no longer be needed if/when Entware eventually releases (sometime this year) syslog-ng version 4.10.xx, which integrates its own log rotation mechanism. Instead, AMTM can make a couple of other checks to verify that Scribe has been installed.

Scribe is clearly installed and appears to be running fine.
In the meantime, you can install uiScribe directly from the Scribe CLI menu.
Select the "su) scribe utilities" option and then select the "ui" option to install uiScribe.

As with most other scripts, I will rely on the main script‘s presence that the addon is installed. I will release an update this Saturday.

All:

I appreciate the speedy, collective response with this issue!

I was able to successfully install uiScribe via scribe utilities!
