Upgrade to RT-AC66u?

I am not sure, about the wifi, the bootloader has settings for USA, not for Europe.
Exactly, think you could flash a different bootloader but that with the warranty issues out me off.

I don't know if we can flash a different bootloader, but if we can, if I flash bootloader from 68U, the processor will be underclocked, right ?

US router's WLAN will most certainly work in Europe, the 802.11 channel frequencies are standardized;

There are only different regulations regarding the use of the channels, frequencies are standard.

I am using a from US imported (by a friend) Asus RT-AC1900P on Bali (Indonesia) without any issues.
