Native HSF+ support - 8 exabytes...

I wouldn't recommend any partition sizes larger than 2TB, as there have been problems in the past with third parties on Linux.

More importantly, is that the Linux driver disables journaling... which impacts TimeMachine capability if sharing an HFS+ drive across the network.

Basically, I wouldn't even try - use EXT4 or perhaps NTFS, but EXT4 will provided best performance.

Are you sure that's the case? Both the Paragon and the Tuxera drivers used by Asus have journaling support, unlike the open source version.

I'm not concern about HFS+ limitation, I'm concern about the router's limitation as the link there are different limitation in each formats. HFS+ it just "support" what does that means full support? Anyone have any idea?

I still wouldn't - as Apple doesn't have public info on TimeMachine and TimeCapsule, so one is depending on smart folks reverse engineering something that Apple can change in a heartbeat...

just saying - for NAS purposes - Apple's been ok with SMB based servers, along with native netatalk, but AppleTalk protocols are being depreciated, and Apple has their own SMB stack these days...
