I've seen a few people use ASCII-art (The smaller ones, like this: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) as their SSID, but when trying it on this firmware, it simply says that the SSID cannot contain the second letter of it. Is this something that could be done, or implemented in some way?

I think as long as you stay within the US-ASCII character range, you should be fine, some of those characters are in UTF-8 land, and clients may have issues dealing with those...
