Verizon FIOS to 802.11n

Is there a DSL Modem / Router that is 802.11n?

Presently, the network is wired with a D-Link VDI-604 modem / router.

Verizon offers an Actiontec MI424WR Wireless modem / router (802.11g), but I wanted to see if there is a 802.11n solution.

I have never used an Access Point, but D-Link has a DAP-1522 that may work.

Any better solutions?

There are a few, but UK / Australia only:
ADSL Wireless-N Router (802.11N)

Just keep your current modem. Any wireless router can be converted to an access point.

If I were to get a router and convert it to an AP what functionality / features from the router (if any) would be lost?

You lose all routing features. All you get is the wireless features of the router that you convert.
