VLAN troubles

Marcus

New Around Here
We have a virtual adaptor configured on our Router linked to a specific VLAN (no 4) and with its own DHCP settings. The router is physically linked to a managed switch which in turn is connected to an AP. In the AP we have configured an SSID which is linked to the same VLAN (no 4). Do we actually have to configure anything on the switch?

Currently we have a VLAN configured on the switch (no 4) which contains the ports linked to the AP and the router. However this is not working.

On the switch you need to set the port that you connect to the router as a Tagged Vlan port. The port you connect to your WAP needs to be set to Untagged VLAN4 unless your WAP is VLAN aware and can handle multiple VLANS. If it can handle multiple VLANS then the switch port going to the WAP needs to be set to Tagged Vlan also.
