vpn doesnt work at work

Setting up VPN for my new RT-N66U...
It looks like my work somehow blocks the outbound VPN. Any way around this? Like set vpn traffic for a different port?

With my android phone I can successfully use the VPN connection of the the router. But this stops working when I go to my workplace and connect to wifi. My employers network is not going to change - so the only possibility is to get the router to change its VPN settings.

PPTP relies on both port 1723 and protocol 47 (GRE) traffic. If your work blocks either of these, there's not much you can do about it. You will have to either switch to a third party firmware and see if OpenVPN works (that one can easily be run on port 80 or 443 if need be), or use a remote control solution such as TeamViewer or LogMeIn.
