Solved VPN not connecting on new RT-BE92U

Hi,

I got a new router RT-BE92U coming from RT-AC86U.

I've installed the latest merlin firmware (3006.102.4), reset via web gui and via hard reset (holding down WPS button whilst turning on router), set it up like i would on my old router but having a strange issue.

I have two open vpn clients setup on my router one vpn is on client 1 (gb) and another vpn on client 3 (nl), my client 3 vpn works fine, my client 1 vpn does not work, just says Error - check configuration! .

I redownloaded new openvpn config files from my provider and setup like i always do and never had an issue before plus my client 3 vpn works just fine.

I go to the logs file and below is what it shows for my client 1 vpn. It shows an error but not sure what to do to fix it, my providers servers are up and working and only happening on the client 1 (gb) vpn, i reset it to defaults multiple times, restarted router multiple times and still same issue.

Any help appreciated as i'm at a loss why the one client works and the other does not.

Code:
Removed log as issue now solved

Try adding the following to the Custom Configuration box:
Code:
pull-filter ignore "ifconfig-ipv6"
pull-filter ignore "route-ipv6"
mate i have wasted several hours and you solved it rite away lol so many thanks, without stating the obvious this has something to do with ipv6? odd thing is i don't use ipv6 plus my vpn provider allows me to choose ip4 or ipv6 or both when setting up config files, i always choose just ip4, even tried both, either way thank you now works lol.

Yes it's to do with IPv6. The router's VPN client can't handle the IPv6 parameters being pushed from the server (if you don't have IPv6) so you have to tell it to ignore them. Don't know why the config file doesn't already do that if there's a provider option to not have IPv6. The config file is really designed for Windows/Mac users so they can probably cope with it.

Yes it's odd, my vpn provider literally allows me to choose ipv4, ipv6 or both yet when using ipv4 does not add the ignore rules automatically when generating the configs. Thanks anyway mate for the help kindly appreciated, works great now :)
