RT-BE92U New Merlin Firmware

It was mentioned on the Asus forum that there is a known bug. Asus is aware of the bug in the Broadcom chip in these routers, and the Merlin team has reported it directly to Asus. So the suggestion is to turn off roaming assistant until then. I am happy to say that I have been fine with 6 Ghz for 2 days now and I also have MLO between my two AImesh nodes.

Still working. :D

Hi! Networkers,

Today, I just purchase a brand new ASUS RT-BE92U :)

Before opening the box and configuring it,
I just take a look at the box sticker label which says:
H/W Ver 1.0
MFG Year 2024

How can I reassure myself that this is the latest hardware version of that model ?

I cannot find info on Asus website indicating what is the current hardware version of it !

I assume that, after almost 2 years since its manufacturing, that some hardware glitch has been corrected
and included in newer batch production.

Should I care ?

Thanks and have a nice day

Almost 2 years? BE92U released in late 2024 ans just been 1 year.

H/W Ver 1.0

In this long thread about RT-BE92U folks talk about V4:

Higher version does not always equal to better. Sometimes, new revisions are introduced to reduce the manufacturing costs, not specifically to fix/improve the product.

Unless someone knows the actual differences, don't pay any attention to these revision numbers.

@RMerlin: I understand what you say. It's logical.
