I have two locations connected via a VPN, each with Asus Routers running Merlin 386.14_2. On the VPN Server router, I have "Advertise dns to Clients" set to Yes. On the VPN Client router, I have tried to set "Accept DNS Configuration" to all of the options (Relaxed, Strict, and Exclusive). On both routers, I have the default DHCP DNS settings (all blanks).
On the computers in the server network, when I do an nslookup command, I can see all of the computers on the server network with their correct IP addresses. On the client network nslookup also correctly shows all of the computers on the client network.
However, on the client network, the nslookup command will not resolve any of the computer names on the server network. If I run the nslookup command on a client network computer, specifying the server router address for the dns server, then the server network computers are visible.
How do I configure these routers so that a default nslookup command on the client network will resolve computer names on the server network?
