Is anyone using WallWatcher with RMerlin on Asus RT-AC66U successfully?
If so what Router type are you selecting?
I've got mine set to tipping point x_series, as thats what it suggested automaticaly, but not sure it's reading log properly.
Is there any other/better solution out there (preferably free/low cost).
Also is there anywhere out there an idiot can get some guidance on using/interpreting it?
It's no longer supported and THe FAQ section is good but not answering ball my questions. I want a real beginners guide in reading the logs.
For instance I get a load of log entries showing UDP traffic being passed (A Red P in the Dir column) with the local and remote IP's being outside my network.
On the face of it this sounds drastic, should I be worried?
Any pointers for a willing learner appreciated.

Depends on what port the traffic is on. Port 53 UDP traffic is perfectly normal for instance, it's the DNS queries you make every time you try to resolve a hostname. Port 66 and 67 would be DHCP traffic between you and your ISP, which is again perfectly normal.

I installed 3.0.0.4.374.35_4 (Merlin build) a little while ago hoping to experiment with WallWatcher but couldn't get the "System Log - Active Connections" to the remote log, only the "System Log - General Log" events appeared (and that wasn't using WallWatcher, but Syslog Watcher) - so no internet traffic logging for me. What setting/configuration am I overlooking in order to get traffic logged remotely?
Happy note - after setting up Traffic Monitoring, I noticed a computer on my network with huge bandwidth usage (400GB/month)...luckily I have an unlimited plan here. Quickly addressed that problem. Thanks for the hard work you're putting in!
