Folks with expertize in wired routers: I am looking for an alternative to "regular" wireless routers to handle the following:
- ability to run OpenVPN client on the router itself preferably without significant performance drop typical to "regular" routers (when encryption is enabled)
- ability to select MAC/IPs for OpenVPN client: i.e ability to select certain MAC addresses on local network to go thru VPN tunnel - for example, TV and one of the PCs go thru VPN, the rest goes unrestricted local access
- bonus point: ability to run 2 OpenVPN clients at the same time
- min 4 GigE ports, 8 would be ideal
Anything like that under 200 bucks?
Can this one do what I want (unlikely, but worth asking):
http://www.costco.ca/D-Link-DSR-250-8-Port-Unified-VPN-Router.product.100096338.html
thanks in advance!
P.S. Ubiquiti routers seem to have a steep learning curve (I am not networking professional) and hard to get/very expensive in Canada. I mean I cannot buy it to try and then return it if it does not work for me...
