Ways to sync a NAS with a DAS over the internet?

Hi, i have a DLink DNS-323 and will probably get some sort of eSATA DAS (NAS is too slow for my needs, will post DAS question later). I am planning on leaving the NAS with my non-techy brother and keep the DAS with myself. The thing is I want to make sure we have off-site backup, that is have the NAS at his place sync with the DAS at my place. I run a dual-boot system Win/Lin and he runs only linux. I was thinking about somehow having the NAS do all the syncing work (push/pull) but am not sure if this is the best way to go. I keep my system turned on most of the time (about half n half between win and lin) and he would keep the NAS turned on 24/7. Is there any easy/dummy software solutions, cheap sync services, etc that anyone might be able to recomend? Things to keep in mind i guess is that my brother is not tech savvy, never will be, so if something goes wong it will have to be pretty simple for him to take care of and also the amounts of data would be pretty big; of course will will sync the drives up at home first but after that it will be through the internet sometimes maybe a gig at a time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers
